As a Solution Engineer at FinDock, you are responsible for positioning the product and helping prospects in the UK and Ireland to understand how FinDock works and what value it can add to their business. You accomplish this by gathering and clarifying requirements and answering their questions from a product perspective during demonstrations , workshops and Proof of Concepts

Prospective clients are mostly non-profit organisations. If they have technical questions or challenges, you can schedule a demo with them and the FinDock Sales Account Executive. During this in-person or online demonstration, you walk the prospect through various business flows, explaining how using FinDock will help them achieve their goals by providing an end-to-end Fundraising solution, including Payments and other financial capabilities

FinDock works very closely with a wide range of Salesforce implementation partners as well as the sales-team at As a FinDock Solution Engineer, you help the partner to see the value of FinDock, understand the advantages it brings, answer functional questions and sometimes help partners scope the FinDock implementation effort. This requires you to be quick on your feet and to know the technical side of the product well enough to confidently present this to partners as well as customers. 

You are part of the sales team, which consists of colleagues from the Netherlands, the UK and Ireland. You report to the VP of Sales. The team works together closely and knowledge is often shared.

Firsthand experience

The Territory Manager asks you to schedule and host a demo with a prospect. How do you proceed?

Firstly, you will find a suitable time for the demo with sufficient time to prepare. You ask the Territory Manager if there are any specifics you need to know about. These specifics include the country they are based in, the payment methods they would like to use and whether they are a fundraising non-profit, higher education or other platform. In other words, you gather as much useful information about the prospect as possible.

Secondly, you prepare the demo by creating a donation page branded for the client. You make sure the demo environment is able to run through the various processes you would like to demonstrate. When the meeting starts, you present this to the prospect.

Afterwards, you follow up with the Territory Manager to get feedback on your demo, and to share your impressions of the prospect and their use cases.
